Even though we still weren’t done dealing with the configuration of TOAD2, we were within an hour of Dalton Georgia so we could keep working through issues. We had planned to be in Elijay Georgia at Talona Ridge RV Resort all along and we decided to stay with our plan.
Talona Ridge was a nice enough place in a nice town. It is a larger town, close to the Southern Terminus of the Appalachian Trail. It is gentle rolling hill country with a lot of wineries and breweries nearby. We used this as our basecamp for the area for five days.
Wine Tasting
Wine tasting is extensive in Ellijay GA. There are numerous wineries about the area and there are a number of opportunities to sample. We went to just followed some random signs, found a great place, had a drink and ate from a tasty food truck. Dogs weren’t welcome so they just took a nap in the truck. It turns out they are quite happy there and we could watch them from our tasting table.
Blue Ridge Georgia
The southern terminus of the Appalachian Trail is in Blue Ridge Georgia so I wanted to see this town and check out these hills. We did a little hiking here and then stopped for lunch. We found a great Bar that had a very dog friendly patio and from that perch we amused ourselves with someone else and his dog.
This place also had very funny T-shirts! We enjoyed them but we have zero room for more stuff in our humble digs so I can only photograph them.
Cleveland Tennessee
We took a day trip to Cleveland Tennessee as it had rained a lot the day before and we were looking for a paved path where we could walk the dogs. We hung out for a couple of hours but for some reason, people have decided to tell me that they see snakes on the trails and I just hate snakes! Here is one recap! (For those of you that might not like snakes either — 1. There are no snake pictures in this video and 2. There were no snakes harmed either!)
How did we find Cleveland Tennessee you ask? Well, Google Maps of course! and we found the “Place” marker too
World’s Funniest Purse
We enjoyed a few adult beverages and while doing so in downtown Ellijay, we stumbled upon a gal who had the most unique purse. It was a clever use of a T-Rex!
