Back in the fall of 2021, I created an itinerary, chose sites, and made campsite reservations for this 6 month Atlantic Journey. I was worried that we would have a hard time finding places as the summer became more crowded. While I thought I had been meticulous, I encountered my first mistake. I had planned to stay in Watkins Glen State Park, but, somehow, I had reserved the wrong size campsite for dear Lancelot. When I was double checking a couple of days ahead of moving, I realized the error of my ways and we had to abort. It was very annoying that Reserve America had an accurate vehicle size stored in my profile and Reserve America had an accurate size listed for the reserved site. All that said, 35 foot Lancelot wasn’t going to fit into a 30 foot space. We ended up at Arrowhead Marina and Campground in Schenectady and it was a lovely diversion right along the Mohawk River.
Lock 8 of the Erie Canal
We visited the Lock8 of the Erie Canal, it was pretty close to our campground.
