We have not had cell service for 6 days and it turns out that is a real problem. HOW CAN THAT BE? I mean, I lived life for 25 years without a cell phone and now, 6 full days without service has been a living nightmare :-).
7 Things that require internet/cell service:
- My daily reading of the New York Times with coffee. And, worst of all, I couldn’t work on my puzzles! Such a sacrifice.
- No Pandora! – Yes, there is offline Pandora, but, seriously, they only give you 10 songs. I seriously need more music offline. And, all I get these days is solicitations for joining Apple Music! Now, that won’t be much more helpful either. Luckily, I do have a bunch of downloaded music, but, what happens when that goes away?
- All Trails – How can I find my hiking trails if I didn’t plan ahead?
- Google Maps – I live for planning my next move. All put on hold.
- The WEATHER! Now, I guess that is just for curiosity purposes, but, dang, I wanted to know how warm it would be or how cold it was after I suffered a freezing cold night.
- Email – but, truthfully, I just don’t care that much.
- My travel journal – UGH – I can’t write without the internet!!!
On the very positive side, I read a lot in my book and it is really good. We got in a lot of walking/hiking.
